Late night, stayed at the park & helped take down the tent (Thank you Steve & Richard Owens).

Aaron Scott won 1st place in Singles.

Tim Green & Ken Clow won 1st place in rec. doubles

Blaine Schepp & Tom Bastian Jr. won 1st place in Novice doubles

Gabe Chavez (sp?) won the putting contest.

Chris Gonzalez was paired up with someone & put in open - he placed 3rd, great job!

I heard a lot more FVMDGC players names being called but I don't know what place they took.

According to the PDGA, which is the governing body for professional disc golf, the term novice relates to those with a rating under 850. 2 years ago there was not even a division such as novice and a few years before that there was not a rec division. When I began playing, there were only 2 divisions, PRO and AM. Speaks volumes that the game has grown enough over the last 12 years that these newer divisions are even necessary. Anyways, I digress,
Our club is fortunate enough to have members that have only just begun the sport within the last year. Out of our 100 or so members over 75% of them have begun playing within the last 2 years. So I don't see any shame in our club members playing where, according to PDGA guidelines http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/09PlayerDivisionsGrid_0.pdf , they are allowed to play in for tournaments.
Granted that the World's Biggest draws a lot of newer players to organized disc golf, and some f them may feel that those in the upper part of their division were sandbagging, but does that really differ from any disc golf tournament where someone wins? If you watched the beginning of the distance driving clinic, you would see why Blaine plays Novice!  Now THAT'S Funny

I had a great time, got to bring the whole family out for some fun and even got my wife to throw some plastic as well! Woo!

I hope some of my tips for putting may help lower some scores for those that attended the putting clinic as well.

Thanks Dave for putting on the event this year and cannot wait till next year's Biggest weekend!

Had tons of fun playing yesterday! Thanks to Dave and Mike for running the Worlds Biggest, you guys did a great job. This  budweiser for you! Highlight of my day was the driving contest at the end of the day, I dont think I'll ever put it within 20ft on 16 ever again.

the one i went to in minnesota they would only let first time starters play novice. think that tournement is to get youngrens interessted in game.
any how it sounds like another good event by this good group of clubsters. wish i could of made it there. good one!
