Blaine my wife will be working the weekend of the 3rd and we will most likely not be able to make it to Cheeseville barring some miracle of her getting someone to cover the shift.  Also my Basket is currently in Michigan.  If I can get back there and snag my basket back from my brother I will let you know.

Sorry to announce that we are going to have to pull the plug on the Schepp Barraboo weekend do to lack of participants.  We will try again next year and hopefully come up with a format to draw more peoples interest.  Sorry for the inconvenience for those that set that weekend aside.  Blaine Schepp

Wish I would have seen this earlier!  Just got back from playing all over MN, and all along I-90 on the way there and back in La Crosse, Sparta, and Madison.  I'm not sure if everyone knows, but there are around 7 championship quality courses within an hour or maybe a little more from the Portage/Baraboo area.  Very nice courses, the few I've played put to shame most courses in IL.  And that's not just my opinion, all of them are rated 4 stars or better on dgcoursereview.  On a long weekend with people carpooling we could easily play every course in the area, and then leave the grilling and fun for night!  Not to mention I love Devil's Lake, I'm usually up there camping at least 3 times a year.  And for laughs we could all go to the Circus Museum!  So creepy!

Look. Sr did what he had to do and the Schepps did what they had to do. Both have been trying to better the club even though their means to do so could use some polishing. Quit playing the semantics game and go play disc golf.

My thoughts (Christie):

Joined the club in October 2008

11-08 2008 Treasurer quit, Blaine took over the position.  Took 7 envelopes of money & deposited into FVMDGC checking account.  Treasurers accounting for 2 years consisted of 4 pages of writings.  In 11 months, we have compiled about 50 pages of documented receipts and transaction.

4-09 President quit.  I had to run a vote for members to vote in new officers.  Blaine took over President postion  & I moved to Treasurers position.  Had to pull together a League party within a weeks notice.

4-09 Webmaster quit, Blaine found a replacement.

5-09 Secretary quit, I had to run a vote for members to elect a new Secretary.

7-09 Viice President quit.  Blaine found a replacement, held a meeting, members voted in Aaron Scott.

In 11 months with being a club member we have promoted  FVMDGC.  We have done a lot with a little help from officers standing by our side.  I’m not use to working the way the club has been functioning in the past.  I like to have a years events on the calendar so that we know what we are working towards.

Promoting the game of disc golf:  Blaine is always talking to new people on the course – so we came up with a pamphlet to hand out to people describing our club.  We have handed out close to 1,000 fliers & the gas station down the street from Eagle Ridge lets us keep them in the disc rack by the counter.  We have a flier at Jericho that has our club web address for players to pull off so they can check out our club.

Events:  I ran Spring/Summer league, 9am bag tags & a lot of the 1pm bag tags.  We cooked for the Fall/Winter league party in order to keep expenses down.  Cooked for a memorial day event, cooked for the ribbon cutting event. Cooked for Labor day event.  Loved it all!  I see this club as family & having get togethers to play & promote the game.  Right now we are pulling together the Spring/Summer league party, working on the club tournament, & two weeks ago the Fall/Winter league schedule was completed (the entire season).

Too many more things are done that I can’t list them all.  My favorite thing that club members do:  Sr. promoted the club & collected money for the Kendall county food panty at Prairie Fest,  Max Larsen came up with the Father & Son tournament & followed through on his own, we provided score cards & pencils.  Jim Rufer came up with Friday night bag tags & runs it himself.  Jason Gordon & Mike Krupicka came up with Handicap league and ran it themselves.  These are wonderful things that are done to promote the game of disc golf & easily run by members that come up with the ideas.  As an officer I am looking down the road at the next FVMDGC event that needs to be pulled together for the  club members

3 year anniversary is coming up on November 11th - (party?).

concentrate on positives and futuure  not past negitives  this happened to our club in alex. pull togather or its done

Thanks for your great point and we are moving on.  This was a huge year for FVMDGC we doubled in size and that means more responsibilities.  Project is a great one and because of all the wonderful folks who are on board.  We will continue to serve in a positive manner.  State of the Club is Strong!

Very proud day for the Schepp's.  Our oldest daughter Carrie just received a letter from Aurora University.  She will be playing basketball for the Spartan's next year and she received a 40,000 dollar Scholarship from the Aurora University Board of Trustees.  Slam Dunk!  This is great news during very tough times and is very well deserved for all Carrie's hard work in her scholastic career.  Go Spartan's!

Kendal Schepp:  Family dog kept the kids safe and protected the house without one breach.  Rest in peace you were the coolest and the Raccoons can finally come within a 1/4 mile of our home.  September 1998 to December 11th 2009.  Adopted Kendal at the age of 1.5 to 2 years old so she had an awesome ride. The country living was what she loved.  Blaine
