I'm glad that it sounds like everyone had a good time!  I would love to hear if there are suggestions on how to make these events even BETTER, and give people more of a reason to not want to miss a single IOS every year.  I know it's super tough to decide where to go because there are SO many tournaments in Illinois now, but not every tournament is the same.  There's always a different experience with who is running it.  We want to be some of the best out there, so what can we do to make it even better?

Will be published in this Thursdays Oswego Ledger:
The Fox Valley Metro Disc Golf Club would like to thank Mike Fee and the Oswegoland Park District for helping get Eagle Ridge Park ready for the 2012 Oswego Open. Oswego is very fortunate to have one of the best disc golf courses in Illinois. Kudos to our Park District. The weather was perfect and many players and spectators came out for the fun. Finishing in their respective divisions were, Pro-Randy Moore Junior, Pro Masters-Bart Zandstra, Advanced Masters-Ron Miller, Advanced Grandmaster-Chris Kujawski, Advanced Senior Grandmaster-John Cleavland, Advanced-Doug Buettgen, Intermediate-Jake Broughton, Intermediate Women-Lindsay Truesdale, Recreational-Ryan Stilson, Recreational Women-Judy Reiter, Novice-Jonathon Keslinke, Juniors 16 and under-Ryan Fox. Hope to see many more at the 2013 Oswego Open. Disc Golf, it's in the air!

Would like to thank Kyle Chapman and Mike Gossett for helping stain and paint tee posts, John Cleavland for painting long tee rocks, Blaine for painting circles, and Mike Krupicka and the whole IOS crew and players for another fun Oswego Open! A special man named Frank Grimes not only builds benches, he builds character, I love you Frank for not only what you have done for disc golf but for everything you have done for me personally!

Just a quick note to let people know that the TD reports have been turned in and the PDGA paid. Results from IOS#50 will be in the next ratings update on July 2.

I'd like to thank the various people that helped out to make this event run smoothly. Whether it was weed whacking the course, staining the tee signs, helping setup on the day of the event, counting cards, spotting, caddying, scoring some free breakfast goodies, bringing in baskets, or spotting for the final four; those little things all help for a great event. I appreciate all that stepped up in big ways and small. Thanks guys.

btw the 10m circles were incorrect and I want to take full responsibility for that. I remeasured my chain last night and it was short by 23". Sorry Blaine for giving you bum tools. It will be correct next time.

If you have suggestions for making next year's event better, I'd love to hear them. Send me a PM while it is still fresh in your mind.

Next event is in Sterling on June 23 & 24. Pre-registration closes Thursday night 6/21 for IOS#51. We are limiting that event to four-somes. Do not get shut out.

Thanks Randy. You need to know something, you're the solider. I'm speaking to you as well as the readers. You're the one that has to put a jar under your arm pit to open it. You're the one that has to figure out how to open a can of pop with that stub of a hand. I want to watch you put tooth paste on a toothbrush. I promise not to laugh. What about tying your shoes?  I think about the things I do with two hands & no pain! You're a warrior Randy! You keep it up Randy Moore Sr.! You make it look easy! I don't wish anyone to walk in your shoes, even for a day!
